how do i reset pw if my email acct has been deactivated?

  1. hi,

i have an old wordpress account. my old account had two blogs:

    http://tunganga.wordpress.com/
    and
    http://nevertales.wordpress.com/

i have forgotten my password for the main account. i can still remember my username but not my password since i haven't used it in a while. unfortunately, i can't reset my password since the email i used has been deactivated by yahoo. I haven't logged in on that email account for over a year.

i'm thinking of creating another account and migrating all the stuff in this new account but i think i have over fifty entries in my two old blogs and that's going to take me a long time to accomplish.

is there a possible way for me to log in to my old account? how can i retrieve or reset my password without my old email account?

    thanks!

  3. While logged out of all WordPress.COM accounts - try and log into the lost accounts - at some point there will be a reset password then an option at some point for "need more help" click on the need more and fill in the forms - that will get you in touch with a staff member to try and recover the account - note: the bar is fairly high since they don't want me to get your account or someone that knows a bit about your blog

    good luck

    thanks!

  8. Could you try the account recovery form again in a different browser? for example Firefox or Internet Explorer.

  9. @kardotim

    thanks!
    i'll try that.

  10. i'm still getting a 403 Forbidden error.
i've tried internet explorer, firefox and chrome.

  11. Could you send us a screenshot of the page where you're seeing this? You can upload the screenshot to your blog's media library. Or you can send the screenshot to us by e-mail.

  12. @kardotim:

will send you screenshots of the errors. thanks!

  13. Thank you, let me know once you've uploaded them.

  14. @kardotim:

i've sent the screenshots via wordpress support email.
the subject is the same as the subject of this forum thread.

also uploaded the images on my media library and made a draft post:

    thanks!

    thanks!

  15. I've just replied to you by e-mail.

  16. ummm...

There seems to be a misunderstanding.
I tried the password you sent me to log in on tunganga.wordpress.com, it didn't work.
i tried it on riolicious.wordpress.com and it worked.
apparently, you reset the password on my other wordpress account.

i was hoping to get a new pw on my tunganga.wordpress.com blog.

    thanks!

  17. I see. That blog is registered under a different account. If you don't have access to your account or forgot the password, you can request a new password over here. I know you already used the account recovery form, but this form is different. Please give it at ry.

Follow the instructions carefully. You'll receive two separate emails during the reset process, so make sure you read them both. If you don't receive the emails right away, check your spam folders as well. The confirmation emails can get caught in them sometimes :)

  18. @kardotim:

    the link worked.
    thanks!

  19. Cheers. Feel free to contact us if you have any other questions.
