How do I set my domain from Go Daddy?

  1. I recently purchased a domain name from GoDaddy.com after already setting up a wordpress blog - Fitandflow.wordpress.com.

For the life of me, I cannot get the hang of domain mapping (the support articles aren't helping). I want to use my domain from GoDaddy - http://www.fitandflowyoga.com - and host it from wordpress since that is where my blog is. I've tried following the domain mapping instructions and reset the nameservers, but then I get stuck. Please advise!

    Have a great day,
    Leanne

The blog I need help with is fitandflow.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi Leanne - It looks like you did everything correctly! http://fitandflowyoga.com/

Sometimes when you change the name servers, it can take awhile to take effect. If you're still not loading your site at that domain, try clearing your browser cache.

  3. Thank you! I think I was getting confused by updating the DNS. I'm totally new to all of this. Do I need to update the DNS? What is its purpose? I appreciate your help!

  4. Hi there - Well, you already updated the name servers. Do you host email on your domain with GoDaddy? If so, there's some additional DNS to add on our end, but if not, you're all set.

  5. No I don't have an email with Go Daddy. So I guess that's not needed.

Although, now that I'm on my home computer again - my site isn't working again. I've cleared the cache and the history. Can you see it on your end?

  6. Hi there - Yes, it's working. What kind of error do you get? Is it the domain that isn't working? If so, you might need to flush the DNS cache on your home computer:

Let me know if you still have any trouble.

  7. Seems to be working now. :) Again, thank you so much for your help! I'll let you know if I have questions again. Happy Thanksgiving!

  8. You're welcome - and you, too! :)
