How do I stop blog followers that are signing up with bogus emails?

It seems that many people are signing up to receive an email when I post but these email addresses are bogus and subsequently I'm getting spammed comments. How do I eliminate the option of them signing up? There are only a few legitimate emails.

The blog I need help with is wildlifeeducationbybernie.wordpress.com.

Hi. How are these addresses 'fake'?

They are all hotmail accounts using numbers and letters with unknown gravatars. The few I know are yahoo and are more like an email address & I know them. I've been getting spam in Japanese and box characters. Yes, Kismet has been catching them but... my blog is simple which keeps my lecture contacts up to date with what's going on in the lives of my exotic animals and really, I'm getting 20 emails a day saying so&so has signed up to receive notification.... it's just bs.

  4. I guess you can't do anything much except remove those bogus email subscribers

  5. @bhat - a blog owner can't remove subscribers

@auxclass - I had already figured that out before I posted my question. It's too bad that a blog owner can't screen its subscribers. Maybe something WordPress should make available just for this reason. It's a shame that people have nothing better to do than to create spam and havoc for bloggers.

  7. I posted the answer because the person above me gave bogus advice and told you to remove the subscribers which can't be done here - others that might read this thread would have seen the wrong answer and wasted a lot of time trying to find the delete subscribers button - that is also why I directed the reply to a specific person -
