How do I unlink two blogs?

  1. A blog was set up and I was added to it. I then set up another new blog, using the same email address that I used to JOIN the other blog. My delimma is that I want the blogs to be separate, with the joined blog administrators not being able to see the NEW blog or anything I am doing there. I also want the ability to stay logged into both blogs, with different usernames being used in each blog.

    I hope I'm making sense.

The blog I need help with is onenessinatrailerpark.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi. In order to assist you, we need the URL of the blogs in question, starting with http:// please. Thanks.

  3. You cannot be logged into two separate WP.com accounts at the same time unless you use two different browsers.

  4. Thank you raincoaster for answering, but I am still confused. Sorry. :-)

I can be logged into two different blogs at the same time.

The problem is I change my user name on one and it changes it on the other.

How can I have different user names without it being reflected in the other blog? Does that require two different browsers? Different email addresses used to set up the blogs?

    Still confused.

  5. Hello. Sorry I'm so thick headed, but I just don't get it.

    Can someone help me? ;-)

    Thanks in advance.

  6. To completely disassociate two blogs currently registered to the same username we register another username with a different email address, while we are logged out of WordPress.com. Then we add the new username as an Admin to the blog we want to transfer to that username, and use this process to transfer the blog to a new username account.

  7. Thank you SOOO much Timethief. :-)

  8. @dpickel
You're welcome and best wishes for happy blogging. :)

  9. Hello I believe I have the similiar situation but haven't been able to get this to process to work. I actually have three blogs. One is my personal blog (spinningwords) -- independent it seems, linked to my personal email address and I am happy with how that is working.

I have two additional blogs that always show up when I sign in with jbspta user name. The second foodallergyednetwork user name - I don't know if i have an independent password to that website.

I want both to work (all for that matter) to work independently.
I tried to set up a sign in user name for foodallergyednetwork but it says the user name already exists. (I assume that is me)

    Help me please!

  10. I tried to set up a sign in user name for foodallergyednetwork but it says the user name already exists. (I assume that is me)

When we register a username the matching blog is "reserved" for us and we contact Staff to secure it.

  11. Is that an answer to my question? I tried to contact staff and it wants me to log in. Should I log in with my jbslineypta or my spinningwords (neither of which I want to change) I cannot log in with foodallergyednetwork

  12. I tried to set up a sign in user name for foodallergyednetwork but it says the user name already exists. (I assume that is me)

I assume it may be you and the blog may be "reserved" but only Staff can confirm that. You can log-in under your other account and then provide all the details to Staff so they can help you.

  13. I have two additional blogs that always show up when I sign in with jbspta user name.

When we register a username at WordPress.com we provide an email address and it becomes our unique identifier. http://en.support.wordpress.com/email-address/
When we are logged into WordPress.com under that username all blogs we register are registered under that username. We can change the display name and that will apply to all blogs registered under the same username. http://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/#change-display-name-nickname Then when we are logged in the original username will appear in the support forums only. The display name will appear then on all blogs registered under that same username the display name will be appearing as the author and the party leaving comments.

If we wish to completely separate two blogs then we have to log out of WordPress.com and register another username with a different email address ie “Just a username, please” (no blog). http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/ Then we can invite that second username account to be added to the blog we wish to transfer to them. http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/ After the inviting and adding users process is complete we can then transfer the blog to another username account. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account
