How do I upload a purchased theme?

  1. I bought a theme for my wordpress website from themeforest. I have made sure the them I purchased was compatible with wordpress. For some reason, I am not finding the upload button on the appearance > themes tab located in my dashboard. The button is simply not there. How do I go about uploading this file so I can start editing my website? Please let me know as soon as possible. This is a time-sensitive job. Thanks you!

  2. The only themes we can use on free hosted WordPress.com blogs are found here > Dashboard > Appearance > Themes

    There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and we cannot install plugins, upload third-party themes or edit templates or themes. Those found on the internet are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

    There is no upgrade that you can purchase from WordPress.com that provides FTP access and the ability to upload third themes. To use any theme other than the over 200 found here Dashboard > Appearance > themes you will need to hire a web host and set up a self hosted WordPress.org install. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  3. You should just ask the company that sold you the theme for a refund, since you can't use it.

  4. This is unfortunate, and wasn't clear during sign up. I just purchased a value bundle thinking I can upload a third-party theme.

  5. I believe there IS a warning against that, but you can simply ask for a refund on your Store page.

    WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all of our upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. You can usually request a premium theme refund yourself directly from the Store section of your Dashboard
