How do we remove the footer that says created with or Blog with?

  1. How do we remove the footer that says created with or Blog with?

The blog I need help with is mazenhalabi.wordpress.com.

  2. That's a ToS violation that will get you blog suspended.

  3. 11. Attribution. Automattic reserves the right to display attribution links such as ‘Blog at WordPress.com,’ theme author, and font attribution in your blog footer or toolbar. Footer credits and the WordPress.com toolbar may not be altered or removed regardless of upgrades purchased. http://en.wordpress.com/tos/

Custom Design - Frequently Asked Questions

May I remove credit links such as ‘Blog at WordPress.com’, theme, font, or toolbar links?
All WordPress.com bloggers are required to maintain the credit links, even our VIP bloggers. Please do not hide or alter text or links for the footer credits or the toolbar. Modifying the style of the footer text (i.e. colors and font size) is fine as long as it’s still readable. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions

  4. We cannot pay extra to get it removed?

  5. No.

  6. Thank you! You just saved me 99 bucks a year.

  7. Not necessarily. FWIW-WordPress.com sites are free; US$99/year is for upgrades.

If you want to go to a WordPress standalone install, that can easily reach US$100 a year between domain name registration and web hosting. However, you will be responsible for all installations, all upgrades, all backups and all troubleshooting. WordPress has made this much easier over the years, but there is a lot more work involved and it is still more difficult if you are not technically inclined. More details in this Support Doc http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Best wishes to you regardless of which way you decide to go.

  8. PS - many WordPress.ORG themes (made by companies for WordPress.ORG installed blogs) also require the footer credits for the theme to be left intact
