How Do You Add 'Plug-ins'?

I can't figure out how to add plug-ins

The blog I need help with is sandisallergyfreerecipes.net.

  2. FTP access and plugins are only for VIP bloggers http://vip.wordpress.com/our-services/ or for those with WordPress.ORG installs. This is not new. It's the way it's always been.

There is no FTP access to our free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we cannot install plugins. If you must have plugins then you have to hire a web host and set up your own WordPress.org install. Read the comparison here please > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Which plugin are you interested in? We may have a widget or workaround that will work for you.

  3. Hello,
I am here for the same query as above. I am new to wordpress and didnt realise so I will have a look at the comparison link you posted. Do you have an equivalent for tint social media?

  4. Hello,

  5. I don't exactly know what tint social media is, but if you are looking for sharing buttons, they are included in wordpress.com. As well as widgets for twitter which show your feed, and you can set up a facebook like button as well.

And you can publicise your new posts on twitter/facebook/tumblr, etc if you wish.

  6. Sharing buttons are on your Dashboard Settings page under Sharing. You can add custom services if you don't find what you want.

Okay well how can you add follow me on Facebook and Pinterest buttons?
And any idea how to add third party buttons for things such as emailing like Mailchimp?

    As raincoaster said above:

Sharing buttons are on your Dashboard Settings page under Sharing. You can add custom services if you don't find what you want.

On the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/
The support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also on the bottom of your Admin page.

Thanks, I figured out the share buttons!!

  10. Good for you. : ) The step by step tutorial is the way to go. It's linked to on the bottom of your Admin page at http://learn.wordpress.com

  11. I just read about a great plug-in for recipe blogs (like mine) called kitchenbug. It formats recipes and adds nutritional info. Do you have anything similar for users of free WP?

  12. No. There are no plugins and there is no widget we can use for that purpose.

    workaround 1
You can use a print friendly PDF version of the recipe and link it in the post.

See here for accepted file types http://en.support.wordpress.com/accepted-filetypes/

The following processes are outlined particularly for users who wish to upload a document and add its download link to a blog post or page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/uploading-documents/

If you want to embed the document itself into a post, then you will have to use a third party application like Scribd or Google Docs.
    See here:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/scribd/
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-docs/

    workaround 2
Create the recipe as an image and upload it into the post. Visitors can click the image and save it to their computer.

You can upload image files in two ways: by going to Media → Add New from your dashboard http://en.support.wordpress.com/media/media-add-new/ or by clicking the new Add Media button right above the editing area of a page or a post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/add-media/

  13. How about Easy Azon? Have you thought about adding that or something like it?

  14. @forwardmotion411

Easy Azon WordPress Plugin allows you to quickly build high conversion Amazon affiliate links from inside your WordPress blog.

    Read this please > http://en.support.wordpress.com/affiliate-links/

There is no upgrade, aside from a VIP hosting upgrade http://vip.wordpress.com/our-services/ that you can purchase that allows blogger initiated advertising on a free hosted WordPress.com blog. You will have to hire a web host and set up your own WordPress.org install to run your own advertising.

E-commerce transactions via shopping carts and the like cannot be conducted on free blogs from and being free hosted by WordPress.com. Paid content and/or sponsored content is not allowed.

On free hosted WordPress.com blog we can use a contact form and/or a PayPal donation button for sale of only products or services created or provided by ourselves.

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/

If you do require an ecommerce site, advertising, affiliate links, paid or sponsored content you can hire a web host and get a free software install from http://wordpress.org
