   Hello:
   I am new to WordPress and to blogging. My blog and first post have been on for over 24 hours and I cannot find it on a google search.
   Would appreciate any insight.

   It can take anywhere from a few days to five or six weeks. Be patient and keep writing. :)

   I think it also helps if you register your site with Google Webmaster. If you don't have a google account, then make sure you submit your site to Google. I don't know if WP automatically submits your site for you.

   It doesn't as far as I know. You should also register on Technorati, BlogCatalog, etc, because those count as links too.

   I've seen Google grab a new site within twenty minutes, but that was when there were three posts during that period. The more active your site, the more likely Google will see it. Link out a lot, and click on those links.

   It took me less than 24 hrs and thats may be because I added my link to Google http://www.google.com/addurl/

   Also, if you get a lot of clicks then your blog will be added automatically within few hours.
