how my posts are getting attention?

  1. HI All,

Whenever I blog a post, I will receive some likes from strangers - they don't follow me. My question is where can they see my post? I am not talking about security. My blog is open for public, but where can they see my posts?

I share the posts on twitter - are they landing on my post through twitter?
or Do wordpress have any widget that rolls all the posts that are freshly pressed? If there is any widget like this I would love to use it. "Freshly Pressed" tab on wordpress.com doesn't change.....it gives a small list.

    thanks for your time.

The blog I need help with is opinion9.wordpress.com.

  2. There are several different ways that readers can start following your blog.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/following/
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/followers/

A follower can click the "like" button when viewing your posts in the Readomatic reader on the home page of WordPress.com without visiting your blog or the Topics pages. http://en.support.wordpress.com/topics/ An email subscriber can click the "like" button in the email they receive of your new posts without visiting your blog.

  3. There is no Freshly Pressed widget. One editor chooses the selected posts for display on the Freshly pressed page.

Hi Mikey, I sift through a lot of posts each day and hand-pick the posts I like the best. Other WordPress.com staff members also pick posts, but I am the primary person behind Freshly Pressed.

Contrary to the previous comments left here on this thread, traffic -- or "hits" or "Page Views" as it's described here -- play no part in being picked for Freshly Pressed. It is all about the quality of the post itself. http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/feature?replies=12#post-484719

  4. As for strangers that don't follow you be aware that anyone can subscribe to the feed on a public blog. All WordPress blogs have multiple feeds.
This is your feed URL for posts > http://nvspratap.wordpress.com/feed/
This is your feed URL for comments > http://nvspratap.wordpress.com/comments/feed/

  5. Whenever I blog a post, I will receive some likes from strangers

There are people who are only using the 'Like' feature to bring traffic back to their blog. I've had 1000 word posts available to the public for less than five minutes that have been "Liked", and when I check their About page there are 200+ comments in only three months thanking the blogger for "Liking" them.

I have a post that was just "Liked" today by someone who has 241 "thank you" comments on their About page since March 2012, and almost zero content on their blog.

  6. I am sorry for my bad english.......I am not looking for followers. Lets say some x blogged a post, I am not the follower of that blog, but I would like to see that post(title of the post), I may like it, and pay a vist to read the post....

I am looking for a blog roll.....that changes time by time with newly pressed posts.......I am looking for something similar to "Freshly pressed" tab on wordpress but which changes more dynamically with new posts.......

excuse me if I confused you :)

  7. I am looking for a blog roll.....that changes time by time with newly pressed posts.

There is no such thing here.

  8. @feartheseeds - some bloggers may do that, i agree with you. My intention is to read some posts that trigger my thinking. I randomly followed some blogs to read on the "Reader" tab based on category. But this doesn't seem to be the effective way of finding blogs/posts i like.......

    thanks for the reply.

  9. @timethief - Got it! Thanks for the reply........

  10. You're welcome.
