How to Add a YouTube Subscribe Widget to WordPress

  1. Is there anyway to add a YouTube Subscribe Widget to WordPress.com? I tried it and the coding disappeared, obviously its another code not supported by .com.

To show what I'm talking about this video below is about the YouTube widget and how to install it on wordpress.

The blog I need help with is avrillavignetalkshow.wordpress.com.

  2. Sorry but using that widget only applies only to WordPress.ORG installs. You cannot use it on free hosted WordPress.com blogs.
Read this for clarity > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  3. Yes I figured as much, people should pay to have the privilege to use a youtube widget even though youtube is free. Makes perfect sense to me.

    thank you

  4. This isn't about money; it's about security. There are restricted codes on multiuser platforms like this one where all blogs share a common architecture as one bad code could bring down many blogs. http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/ However, on a free standing WordPress.ORG install there are none because the only site security that can be compromised is a single site.

  5. Let me ask you this then, why is youtube's widget considered a security risk when facebook and twitters widgets are not, they are allowed to be use on wordppress.com. Is wordpress in a falling out with YouTube?

  6. Sorry but I do not have an answer to that. I believe Support Staff or the WordPress developers would have one but I don't.
