How to add google site map to my blog?

  1. Hi, Iam using contempt theme, i would like to include sitemap.xml file in the server pertaining to the blog. Where can i place it? or it can be done in any other way? guide me on this

The blog I need help with is blog.sosonlinebackup.com.

  2. WordPress.com automatically provides sitemaps for all blogs they host.

    XML Sitemaps for Search Engines
Your blog is enabled with just about everything you need to be super-searchable. This includes an XML sitemap, which you can access at yourblogname.wordpress.com/sitemap.xml.

No need to do anything extra on your end. The sitemap file included with your blog is available to every search engine that supports the protocol, including Google, Yahoo!, Bing, Ask.com, and others. WordPress.com automatically sends updates to search engines every time you update or delete a page or post. If you would like to learn more about the protocol, visit sitemaps.org. http://en.support.wordpress.com/sitemaps/

If you have not verified your blog ownership with the major search engines yet then follow this guide. > http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/

  3. What if I've mapped my blog to a specific domain name, mydomain.ca? Does the sitemap have to say mydomain.ca/sitemap.xml, or does it say yourblogname.wordpress.com/sitemap.xml? Thanks in advance...

  4. No, if you have your own domain name, then your sitemap would be mydomain.ca/sitemap.xml .
