   hi guys,

   i wanna know how to add html into the sidebar of my blog. i have purchased the css upgrade but the theme editor did not appear at all!

   im really stuck with this for so long now and wld appreciate it if someone out there can help me out. thanks!!!

   You don't need the CSS upgrade to add HTML to your sidebar. What are you trying to add? Paste it here between backticks, those little marks on the same key as the ~, so it's backtick, code, backtick. That makes it display so we can take a look at it.

   The CSS upgrade allows you to change the look of your blog by editing design elements like colour and column width and height. There is virtually no support for the CSS upgrade, so you are advised not to purchase it until you're good enough to use the free preview to get what you want.

   What, exactly, are you trying to change on your blog?

   I want to add an ad on my blog.

   But when i try to add it to the widgets it doesnt show the ad, only the words. Then i found out that we cannot insert html on a free wordpress so i got the upgrade. I dont really care abt the theme actually, just want to insert the ad. =/

   JavaScript is not allowed in wordpress.com. It gets stripped out.

   just want to insert the ad

   No ads allowed either, it's in the TOS.

   Contact staff immediately, say you misunderstood, and see if you can have your money back. The ONLY upgrade that will allow you to run ads is the VIP upgrade, which costs I believe $600 per month.

    If you have a WordPress.com blog, to add a text widget, read:
    http://faq.wordpress.com/?s=text+widget
    But you can't add javascript, frames, and well, being non-tech-y, other things. html, only.
