how to add Twitter

  1. I created a Twitter account and came back to wp and followed directions and could not do it.
There was no RSS link on their site (your directions said there was)...please help

  2. No, you put your twitter RSS into the RSS widget. There IS an RSS feed for your twitter account.

    This is my account:
    http://twitter.com/raincoaster

    This is my feed:
    http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/15579178.rss

  3. Greetings,
Sounds simple enough. Çan you tell me how do you find out what the TWitter RSS Feed URL is?

    iV

  4. Hey ivsblog, there are good instructions here http://support.wordpress.com/twitter/

  5. you need to make the RSS WIDGET feed "http://twitter.com/raincoaster" do not make it your actual rss address

  6. No, you need to make it http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/15579178.rss THAT is the RSS feed address.

  7. I tried following the directions listed above, but it doesn't seem to be working.

    Blog: mirelesminute.wordpress.com
    Twitter Feed: http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/7891912.rss

This is what is currently listed on the blog.
    Unknown Feed
An error has occurred; the feed is probably down. Try again later.

    Any help is appreciated.

  8. mirelesminute your problem lies with your feed from twitter and not with the wordpress blog.

Check your twitter settings it appears you have it set on private, which means the blog can't read it.

  9. Is there any way to keep it private and have the blog read it?

  10. No, that's the opposite of Private.

  11. privacy settings on a RSS subscriptions (in this case the twitter feed) are "all" or "nothing".
    as Raincoaster has suggested.

  12. Ok, thanks for the help.

  13. I have tried multiple times to get Twitter to work, following the directions for the RSS feed and it continues to read:

An error has occurred; the feed is probably down. Try again later.

    Can anyone help?

  14. We cannot help at all without links to your blog and your Twitter account, starting with http.

  15. I am also trying to get the Twitter feed and am getting the same error message: An error has occurred; the feed is probably down. Try again later.

My Twitter account is not set to private, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

Link to Twitter account : http://twitter.com/VolunteerKC

    Link to Blog: http://volunteerkingcounty.wordpress.com/

    Can anyone help?

  16. Nevermind. I figured it out. Once you login to Twitter, you need to click 'Profile' and then 'RSS feed of (your account)' If you click the RSS feed from your homepage without clicking on 'profile', the RSS URL won't be the user URL, but rather the friend RSS feed URL.
