how to build a slider in Sight

  1. I still don't get how to build a slider in the Sight theme. I've gone to Appearance -> Header and have added my logo in the upper right hand corner, which is great and just what I wanted, but now I want to add a slider BELOW the logo (just like the one in the Sight demo). No go.
    What am I doing wrong?

The blog I need help with is outletdisseny.wordpress.com.

  2. The slider is made out of sticky posts with featured images. To make the slider, start by making a new post. Make it a sticky post and add a featured image to that post.

If you have done all of that already and the slider still isn't showing up, make sure that you are using large enough pictures. (Check the specs at the bottom of the Sight info page.)

  3. Dear Expattrnaslator (I am too),
Well, tried that ...new post, image 290x 640, stickypost checked...

    Still no go.

    arrrrgg.

  4. One thing is to make sure that you aren't just adding the image into the body of the post. When you are creating the post, be sure to look for the "Featured Image" box and add the image by clicking on "Set featured image." If you have done that and it still isn't working, let me know and I'll troubleshoot with you some more.

  5. TaDa!! It worked!

Thank you very, very much Expat. I really appreciate it.

  7. Hi guys,

Another question related to this topic: I have the slider now on the page where the posts appear. But I want to have the slider featured on each page. Is that possible?

  8. NO it is not possible to have more that one.

  9. Too bad :( Thanks Timethief!

  10. You're welcome.
