How to change DNS

  1. I recently purchased a domain name from WordPress. The original site was a WordPress.com site and the new one is with WordPress.org.

My site is hosted now at WebSolute.com, São Paulo, Brasil.

In order for WebSolute.com to host my domain, the primary and secondary name servers associated with the domain record need to be changed to the following:

    Primary Nameserver: ns3.websolute.com.br

    Secondary Nameserver: ns4.websolute.com.br

I have no idea how to do this.

Right now, I can access the site via the test link, but when I type in the URL I get re-directed back to the old WordPress.COM site.

    Any suggestions?

The blog I need help with is jumperbrasil.com.

  2. If you’ve registered your domain through WordPress.com and now want it to point to a blog or website hosted elsewhere then you can do this by updating the nameservers. The nameservers control where traffic for the domain goes using DNS. If you are moving from WordPress.com to a self-hosted WordPress.org blog, you can enter the nameservers provided by your web hosting company to switch your domain to their hosting service. Follow the Update Nameservers instructions http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#update-nameservers

  3. I can't visualize the panel you told me change my dns servers.
Could you help me with this issue? In my blog panel there's no such option. Tks in advance.

  4. If you can assure us that you bought your domain name from WordPress.com, the instructions timethief provided you should, in theory, be valid. Did you follow them to the letter, starting with step 1?

    1. Login using the Domain Manager Login instructions.
