How to change image source?

  1. I have a blog in Persian. When I uploaded photos it automatically stores them in an address with ".wordpress" in its path (for example, http://staryab.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/spacecraft-clock-orbit.png).
I can change the image URL, but not the image source in Advance Settings. If I change the source it will show a broken link.

I need to change the source and remove ".wordpress" part, because ".wordpress" is blocked in Iran and my readers can not see the images.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to change the image source?

The blog I need help with is staryab.com.

  2. You would need to move the pictures to a site such as Dropbox / Flicker or some site that is not blocked then hotlink the image into your blog. I think that is the insert from web option for images (I don't do it much)

The way domain mapping works it will always have the wordpress in the file name even on mapped domains - the other option would be to move to a WordPress.ORG install of WordPress and move your content there.
