How to change / remove footer text

    How do I remove / edit following text at bottom of my page?

    Blog at WordPress.com. Theme: Manifest by Jim Barraud. Fonts on this blog.

    The blog I need help with is madiganschuler.com.

    May I remove the ‘Blog at WordPress.com’ credit in my site’s footer?
    Although the Custom Design Upgrade certainly grants you the capability to hide the credit from your site’s footer, you are not permitted to do so. Even our VIP bloggers are required to maintain the credit. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions

    We cannot use plugins on wordpress.COM
    wordpress.ORG is not the same as wp.COM

    No your cannot remove the tiny smiley face from your blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/smiley-on-your-blog/ It's an indicator that your stats are being recorded. http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/

    You're welcome. As you are bew to WordPress.com I'd like to point out some useful links. On the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/ The support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also on the bottom of your Admin page. The search box at the support link provides results from both forum threads and support documentation and I used it to find the answer to your question

    Technically, there IS a way to get rid of the smiley face, but if you do that you will not get any stats.

    My footer has my blog name and a tagline, where do I go to change that tagline?

    @bookinz how did you get the footer of your site to say, bookinz - making books fasionable!

    To change the blog name and tagline, go to Settings->General.

    That's how the theme works.

    Ok, does it only work with the theme you use, because i tried it on my theme and it didnt work...

    Yes, that is how THAT theme works.

    So if I see a footer that says Powered by WordPress without a theme name and designer, is that an indication that the blogger is using WordPress software on his/her own server and not WordPress.com?

    Powered by WordPress is linked. Sometimes it is but there are other indicators as well. Why do you ask?
