You cannot delete your account. You can however delete the blog.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/delete-blog/Do note though if you delete the blog and then later change your mind you will not be able to get that same blog back. Once you delete it, it is gone forever.
What you might want to do is go to settings > privacy and set it to private. It doesn't hurt anything and if you at some point change your mind it is there waiting for you.
