   Hello - I have recently been hired to help manage the social media for a local company who has their blog with WordPress. I am familiar with how WordPress.com works as I manage my own blog, but do not recognize the screens on this other blog. It is WordPress, but I am suspicious that it is self-hosted? For example, it is in need of an "upgrade to 3.5.1" but when I attempted to proceed, I needed additional credentials to continue. How do i know how another blog was set up?

   The url is http://onceatreefurniture.com/blog/wp-admin/ when I sign in, but I cannot see any site statistics or any of the familiar post options (like copy a post)? The actual site ishttp://onceatreefurniture.com/blog/

   It also shows updates are required for:

   Akismet

   Is there a way to move this existing blog to a wordpress format without losing this history and previous posts? Help!?

   The blog I need help with is mypostcardsfromhome.wordpress.com.

   The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.

   thank you! I was trying to get help there, but I can't seem to find any support other than reading documentation.

   I am wondering if there is someway for me to start a new blog and have the two linked so that I can continue to use what I know?

   If you don't have a username account at WordPress.org, click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the correct support forums for your software.
