How to I change the "by" name under the title on a blog?

  1. I have two blogs and do not want them (by...) to be linked in any way. How can I change the "By" below the title?

The blog I need help with is goingforwardfromthis.com.

  2. You need to create a completely separate account tied to a separate email and transfer one of the blogs to it by making it an Admin of that blog. Then you need to remove the first username from that blog.

  3. raincoaster the problem is that I purchased two domains here but I didn't realize that they would be tied together with only one user name and now I cannot open the new account with the blog name that I want.

    Thank you for your help.

  4. I have other things that I want to link to but I do not want the blogs linked at all. One is business and the other is personal. Hope this new information helps with the answer.

Blog names are the same as usernames for the most part. Usernames can be turned into blog names, but blog names cannot be turned into usernames. You can register any other username and move your blog to it following the guide at http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account but you won't be able to register the username that matches the blog. http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/cant-change-username-because-i-use-same-display-name?replies=5#post-694997

  6. So are you telling me that there is no way to move this and use the name that I already paid for?

I am ok with the one blog name being associated with the username and displaying that information when a post is written but I do not want the two associated with each other.

I have already posted my company "about" page and I posted it and linked to it for my customers.

  7. I already answered this. You must create a NEW username, and you must give the second blog to that username. Then you have two blogs, each maintained by a different username and no reason anyone would connect the two. It has nothing to do with upgrades or anything.
