You can remove your credit card details while logged into your account, from the Users > Personal Settings screen, which can be found via this direct link:
http://sseacenter.wordpress.com/wp-admin/users.php?page=grofiles-user-settings
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the "Delete Payment Data".
Your upgrades won't auto-renew, instead you'll receive an e-mail notification before the upgrade expires. This way you can manually renew it with new payment details.
