How to limit Archive list on post to 12 or less.

  1. Sorry, I read all I could find but don't know how to limit the archive list on my posts to 12 or less so it doesn't cover part of my pictures. Sorry if I seem dense but I am 80 years old so am entitled to be a little dense.

  2. Where is it covering part of your pictures, and are you talking about the sidebar or the content area?

  3. When I post a large picture the Archive portion of the sidebar covers part of the picture. I want to limit the archive list or eliminate it entirely.

  4. I am using Firefox 12 and I cannot see any overlapping at all.
Exactly which browser and version of it are you using. If you don’t know click here to find out > http://whatsmyuseragent.com/
These are the troubleshooting steps we take whenever any issues like this arise:
clearing your browser cache and cookies > http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
using the browser with all extensions or add-ons disabled
updating the browser to the latest stable version (not a buggy BETA browser version) http://browsehappy.com/
    using another browser.

Will you please try those troubleshooting tips?

  5. Well, excuse me for say this in this way, but you are doing it wrong. There is a limited width in the posting area, and posting images that are wider than that area will at some point kill your site. It happens all the time.

If you want to post wider images, then select a theme with a wider content area, or select a theme that allows you to change the layout to a single column with no sidebar.

Also, you can go to http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/filters/ and filter for one column and theme options and then you will have to try them out to find which have the ability to have a full-width layout in theme options.

  6. When it comes to images the most common issue that arises oversized images. See here for troubleshooting images.

  7. I am not having trouble with width of the content. I have used this format for years. My problem is when posted the sidebar is long and I would just as soon eliminate the Archive List entirely. That is really what I am asking. How can I do that?

  8. You can remove any widget here > Appearance > Widgets
click widget - widget opens - click delet (remove)

  9. So go to appearance > widgets and add a single blank text widget to the sidebar and remove anything else that is in there. That will completely empty the sidebar and you can post 3000px wide images if you wish.

  10. Thanks for your help. I accomplished what I wanted and decided to change themes too. Bye.
