   How do I limit number of articles on my own page? Also, can I specify how many characters they can be before a "read more" link truncates?

   Options>Reading -- look down for blog posts

   You can't automate the read more but you can insert wherever you'd like.

   Thanks. Where is OPTIONS located? am I blind? I don't see it anywhere

   It's on your dashboard. Second from the end on the right. :)
