How to make AutoFocus just like the demo?

  1. Hi, I'm new to wordpress. I am trying to make my site just like the AutoFocus demo, with only tiled images on the frontpage, and each image will display a text when the cursor rolls over, and each image links to the post. I have been fooling around with the tools, but don't see how this can be done without modifying the HTML. There gotta be something I'm missing. Do I need to modify CSS in order to do it?

I have the Pro Bundle upgrade. I know HTML and JavaScript but little about CSS. Thanks in advance!

The blog I need help with is darrenvinci.net.

  2. Hi, it looks like you have a "static page" selected to be displayed as your homepage. To have Autofocus behave like the demo, you will want to switch the home page back to display blog posts.

To Fix, log in and navigate to Settings → Reading. Under the section titled "Front page displays" you will want to select "Your latest posts". Screenshot.

Please let us know how this works for you!

  3. hi Michael, this is what I suspected and about to test. Thank you for confirming that :)

Is there is way to change the tiling pattern? Or move the image inside each tile so the most interesting part shows up? And to remove dates from the tiled images, do I need to use CSS?

  4. Hi there!

I'm trying to do what you've asked about darrenchang1977, did you find a way to change the tiling pattern or move the image inside the tile to show the best part? As at the moment you can only see part of a wall and i'd like to see the whole image within the tile.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!
