How to make posts full width?

How can I make the posts larger and get rid of the sidebar. What code do I need?
    Thanks

The blog I need help with is thegoonermonkey.wordpress.com.

  2. Have you read the theme description? http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/twentyeleven/ There is no sidebar on single posts (Twenty Eleven). The theme is not designed to have one. Moreover, it's a responsive width theme.
Responsive width means the layout adapts depending on the size of the device being used to view your site. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading.

  3. In short, no you cannot add a sidebar to a page that was designed without one. CSS is a styling document and cannot be used to add functionality. To add a sidebar would require access to, and editing of the theme PHP script files, and we cannot do that here at wordpress.com. http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/twenty-eleven-viewing-sidebar-in-single-posts?replies=15#post-657869

I change my theme to skeptical. Can you edit the CSS to make the posts any larger?
    Thanks

  5. Yes, you can get rid of the sidebar, since you have the Custom Design upgrade. You need to post this question in the CSS forum. Make sure you make it more precise: remove the sidebar altogether? on the front page only? on the single post view only? on the single post view as well as on static pages?

But changing details of appearance via CSS is easier than changing the overall structure: so, if you mean you want no sidebar at all, better use a theme with no sidebar or a theme on which the sidebar is optional.
