I would like to move email and wordpress subscribers to my blog from wordpress.com to wordpress.org. I haven't done a guided transfer, but I might do a site redirect in the future.

What do you mean by subscribed? You need to upload the JetPack plugin into your self hosted WordPress.org install and activate it. Did you do that?
