How to preserve links moving from blogger

  1. Hello,
I've had a trawl of the forums but haven't been able to find an answer.

I recently exported my fairly large blog from Blogger to WordPress(.com). The problem I've encountered is that every link I've ever made to another post on the blog, still directs back to the blogspot site.

Manually changing this in the 600 or so posts is a depressing thought, to say the least. Is there another way?

I do own a domain name that is currently being used for a 'hub' site to direct people to various different wordpress sites (sarahkreece.com) if that might help the process? I've appreciated the community of bloggers at the .com site with a lot of new people finding and liking my blog so I'm not keen to lose that by moving to wordpress.org.

    Thanks for your time :)

The blog I need help with is skreece.wordpress.com.

  2. With WordPress.com, there is no way to mass-edit the content of blog posts. One thing you could try would be to "export" the content from WordPress.com, which would give you a WXR text file that you could search and replace text in. Then you could re-import the content to your site.

  3. Thanks for your reply.
Ah I see, that still sounds like a pretty lengthy process. :( I can leave the orginal blogspot site still up and allow the links to to direct there, at least for now, although I'm a little concerned about duplicate content causing me SEO issues. What do you think?
If I ever wish to change from wordpress.com to .org, will I encounter this problem all over again?
