  3. I haven't been doing much at the moment to promote my blog but I start by letting my friends know about it, then I post links to it on other sites that I may be on and then just go around reading other peoples blogs and leaving comments hoping that they might share some of the same interests and continue to read it.

  4. I have been blogging for about 2 months and I'm happy with my results.
I have joined some bloggers group. Yes, commenting on people's blog helps to mark your presence. Sending links - I don't prefer that. Its their blog after all. Respect their space. Being active on the forums helps the most.

  5. how do you join bloggers groups? where are these groups?

  6. reddit is one (I haven't used it myself though).
When you visit people's blogs, you can see different badges on their site. Those are from certain groups. These groups can help you make your blog visible. The results of course may vary. And usually it is a mutual give and take where you'll have to read other people's blog too.

  7. ohh, i see it on yours. so how do you go about finding groups on your own interests?

  8. Keep your eyes open for these badges as you go. That's what I do.

  9. Hello there,
The most effective way of promoting a blog within the WordPress.COM community is to seek out other blogs in the same niche as our own blog and post meaningful comments to posts in them. Here is the link to the wordpress.com global tag pages. http://en.wordpress.com/tags/
There you will be able to locate blogs by category/tag that you can visit, read posts and leave comments on. See also >

Social networking tremendously expands the audience you can connect with. At the end of the day, if you do not use social media and social networks to promote your blog posts and blog, then you will find building a growing readership is more difficult as the audience you reach will be very limited.

Linking your wordpress.com username to your wordpress.com blog is the best free advertising you can get. The blog linked to your username has been deleted. To link your username to your active blog > Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.

Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.
