  1. I want to put a couple of text ads, or links, banners or SOMETHING!~ on the SIDE of my blog page. I read somrthing about it being spam and you couldn't fdo it. I MUST be speaking of something different
but then, how do i do it?.

  2. Blogger generated ads are not at this time allowed on wordpress.com blogs This link will explain about adsense and other ads: http://faq.wordpress.com/2005/12/08/adsense/

  3. Use a text widget with html coding. And make sure you've chosen a theme with a sidebar. But you should be aware that commercial blogs are not permitted at WP.com. A 'discreet link' to a business is permitted.

    See here: http://faq.wordpress.com/2005/12/08/adsense/

  4. Advertising is not allowed on free hosted wordpress.com blogs. http://faq.wordpress.com/2005/12/08/adsense/
If that's a deal breaker for you then you can hire a web host very inexpensively and download free software from http://wordpress.org

but THIS is a first for me...and definitely different

  8. oh and thanks to everyone.
sacredpath, don't you have to do ppp for adsense? or advert other sites on your own site? I won't do either.

Volunteers answering forum questions do not interpret policy and its application, staff do. And at this link http://faq.wordpress.com/2005/12/08/adsense/ we find the following phrases:

If you’re not sure, contact support.

    and

If you are in any doubt, ask.

On the admin side of your blog in the top right hand corner you will find a "support" button and during support hours you can use it to send in your details to staff and to ask for assistance.
