How-to put up a sticky note?

  1. Hi,

I'm pretty new to blogging and really new to wordpress.com. I've been working with the Vigilance theme (which I really like), but I can't seem to figure out how to put up a sticky note. I've search the forum, but I wasn't able to find a relevant thread. If there is one, I'm sorry, I'm still trying to get the hang of this whole thing.

Basically, I would like to know where I go on the dashboard to create a sticky note. Again, I'm sorry if this seems super obvious.

Please paste the exact URL of your blog when asking questions here, or link your nickname to your blog (as explained in the Sticky 8 Things to Know Before Posting). We can't help without that.

  3. Oh Ok, I thought it would link to the blog automatically.

In any case, here it is http://cuntlove.wordpress.com

Don't be put off by the name. It's not porn.

In practically all themes you can create a post the normal way (Posts > Add New), then (in the Publish module) click the "Edit" tab you can see next to "Visibility" and tick the option "Stick this post to the front page".

In Vigilance, in particular, you can instead go to Appearance > Vigilance Options and use the "Alert Box" (probably better, since it's just a colored box with no date, categories etc.).

Yet another alternative is a note up top in the sidebar (Appearance > Widgets > activate a Text widget).

  5. Thanks that was really helpful.

You're welcome. Since you chose the Alert box, see here in case you'd like it to be in a different color:
