If you haven’t added any widgets to your sidebars, the theme will show a default set of widgets, which will not be listed in the Sidebar area. Once you activate any widget, the default set is cancelled and you have to select and add the widgets of your choice > Appearance > Widgets
    Widgets and the no-widgets paradox

Thank you both for your help. I understand the widgets much better now although I need to practice with them.

  4. You're welcome. :)

  5. @timethief...that is not what happened to me. I have a blank window on my widget column that is not showing in my widgets and hence I cannot delete it. I'd appreciate your going to 'ourvictimstories.wordpress.com to see it and tell me how to delete it.
    Tnx,

  6. I can see these widgets in your sidebar on that blog: search, recent posts, archives, categories, meta. If you go here > Appearance > Widgets you can replace them with widgets of your own choice. If you cannot see the widgets I can see on your blog and/or you cannot move them on the Widgets page, then you probably have a browser issue.

Exactly which browser and version of it are you using? If you don’t know click here to find out > http://whatsmyuseragent.com/

Is your browser version up to date? You can upgrade any browser version here. http://browsehappy.com/

Have you tried using the browser with all extensions or add-ons disabled?

Do you have another browser you can try?

  7. Please try this again.
