How to remove date from manual Excerpt (Suburbia theme)

  1. Hi, apologies but I'm a total WordPress rookie.

    I'm looking to remove the date tag at the bottom of my manually created excerpts but haven't found any way yet.

    The blog is: contextualternate [dot] com. I've searched on other forums but the CSS I found so far isn't working for this case. I don't seem to have access to php files either, as most suggestions prefer for this modification. Was wondering if there is any way this could be done.

    Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!

    The blog I need help with is contextualternate.com.

  2. Yes, that is indeed true. In order to remove the date from your manually created excerpts, you would need access to the PHP files, which isn't possible with the Custom Design Upgrade. I don't know of any workaround for this, but there might be one. Someone else may be along to offer a different opinion.

  3. Thanks. My inelegant solution till then is to use a 'custom' format for the date, with some dots in place of the dates! Unfortunately the dates have a grey rectangular background as well, so even that isn't really working.

  4. You're welcome. Perhaps someday users will be able to alter small amounts of PHP code. We'll have to wait and see!

  5. @errorsinc: sammetheny is an ignorant user who should refrain from answering questions. To remove the date add this:

    .grid .time {
    display: none;
    }
  6. O brilliant! Thanks a lot. This works perfectly!

  7. @errorsinc: so sorry, I was inspecting the wrong HTML element. Glad you got a fix. :)
