How to restore my post?

  1. In the 'edit post', I press 'preview changes', then this came up"Are you sure you want to do this?" then my post got back to yesterday. 9 hours of work gone

The blog I need help with is temanbukukopi.wordpress.com.

  2. You may be able to recover an earlier post revision. Go to Posts > All Posts, hover over the title of the post, click Edit and check the Post Revisions module for previous saved versions of the post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/

If you're not seeing the Revisions module while on the editor screen, click Screen Options (top right corner of your Admin page) http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ to activate it. Then select the post and page modules to include them. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules Then you ought to be able to go here > Dashboard > All Posts > Posts and locate the post and recover it from post revisions.

If you cannot locate the post for locating and restoring a post revision, and it's not in your Trash folder http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/ then you will not be able to recover it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/#restoring-from-trash

Did you create your post on the dashboard of your own blog?
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New

Or did you create your post on the front page of WordPress.com?
    http://wordpress.com/#!/post/

  3. @timethief

Thank you for your kind response. I've tried it all (after you seggested), but the revision module is just not there. As for your question whether:

I create my post on the dashboard of my own blog?
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New

Or did I create my post on the front page of WordPress.com?
    http://wordpress.com/#!/post/

Sadly I have to answer you this: I don't know (can't remember).
By the way, the address of my Edit Post is:
    http://temanbukukopi.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=1&action=edit
(I'm not sure if that means something or not, sorry).

But by checking the appearance of
    http://wordpress.com/#!/post/
(which I find unfamiliar), I guess I started my post from dashboard.

Anyway, my problem in general is this. This is my 1st blog ever (at least supposedly, so far :) ), so I'm pretty clumsy. I start in October, but haven't finished the first post yet, up till now (!) [Oh, I must have published it by accident, thinking it were a save function--see how clumsy I am?]. Somehow, the post keeps getting back to some earlier draft (the one with the dreadful "Are you sure you want to do this?" being the latest), and the automatic save function doesn't seem to work well (again and again it only gives me back some old draft--not the recent one). I still want to finish this first post, so I really need to know this:

Is there a sure way to force the save function to work? So that if anything goes wrong again, I only lose a few minutes work (and not tens of hours of tedious work).

    Thanks again.

  4. Click on Screen Options and make sure that your Revisions area is checked in the Post page.

  5. Already did that. But the Revision module is just not there.
And my trash is empty, so nothing to restore from there as well. Thanks.

Note: An announcement showed up for a number of times (when I start the edit page for post), asking whether I'd like to retrieve a more recent draft (forgot the wordings). But I always ignored this offer, since the one on the screen was already the lastest. That announcement never shows up again lately.

  6. But the Revision module is just not there.

  7. Well I guess I missed the "Then select the post and page modules to..." :)
All the revisions (Oct 21 - Dec 7) are here now. Thank you, guys.
