How To Sequence Slideshows

    WOW! I am glad that I did not wait until the last minute before posting my latest blog entry. Hopefully this new format grows on me as my first thought is I liked the old format much better. I was having trouble uploading photos into a slideshow, however I found your slideshow instructions in support, which enabled me to upload them.

    I am now having trouble uploading the photos into a slideshow in the sequence that I would like them posted. I tried uploading them in several different sequences, but the photos never get loaded in the sequence that I would like. I also make sure that I save the post several times before I upload the photos.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Start by uploading the images into your page or post. There are still changes to be made such as bringing the slideshow button back. In the interim you can still create slideshows using the slideshow shortcode, provided that the images have already been uploaded through the post or page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/slideshows/#adding-a-slideshow-with-previously-uploaded-images

    I use a slideshow with over 100 slides & periodically add new photos.

    I want them in date sequence, most recent first. The old system's drag & drop method worked fine. I CAN NOT figure out how to consistently do this with the new system. Sometimes it seems to do what I want, other times not. Most recently, not.

    I understand that the "Insert Slideshow" button will be returned - thank you for that. How about some help with the sequencing when photos are continually added, as I do?

    I have spent the past four days trying in vain to upload my photos into a slideshow. My problem is I cannot figure out how to place them in the sequence that I would like them viewed.

    Reading JustJennifer's advice concerning this problem, she said to click on the gallery tab in the image uploader, reorder the photos and click save. On my screen, I cannot find neither the gallery tab nor the save button. The only tabs I have are edit, create a new gallery and insert into post.

    When I slide my scrollbar down, the screen does not move down. Is this the problem, in that I am not getting access to the entire screen?

    We do intend to bring back the "Insert slideshow" button and its associated features in a future release.

    For technical reasons, we are unfortunately not able to bring it back immediately. I know this is an inconvenience for some, and we sincerely apologize.

    If you require finer control over the slideshow order beyond what's currently possible using one of the techniques I described here, you might want to look at using a gallery as an alternative in the meantime.
