   How can I set my blog up as just a plain domain name without the .wordpress.com after it.

   Register a domain name and then use domain mapping to map that domain name to your blog here at wordpress.COM. http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/

   Or, register a domain name, hire a web host, install the software from wordpress.ORG on that web host, configure everything and then export all your stuff from here and import it into the new blog on the third-party web host. http://support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org
