This is the problem; I have three categories (A,B,C) but they're sorted alphabetically (A,B,C) but I want them sorted "A,C,B".
How can I do this?
Thanks.

The Category widget will only show your categories in alphabetical order.
Instead of using the Categories widget, you can create a new custom menu (in your dashboard, go to Appearance > Menus) that includes just your categories. You can drag and drop them to be in whatever order you'd like. Name that menu "Category menu". Use a custom menu widget and choose the "Category menu" as your menu to display.
Good info.
I have a category lack of knowledge also. Having trouble assigning a category as the parent in order to create a sub-category.
It appears as sub on the dashboard-Category but publishes as separate category?
thetorchblogusa, you can assign child categories by using the custom menu option I mentioned, and dragging the sub/child category to the right so that you get a staggered/stairstep arrangement. Anything indented to the right will be a child of whatever is above it and not indented.
You could also assign a parent to a category by going to Categories (under Posts) and in the edit window, choose a parent category. Note that the parent has to be created first.
Well, "jackiedana", thanks for your help, but I didn't want to make a menu/widget with categories, I wanted to order these categories:

Thanks anyway ;)
Note: These are not static pages that bloggers create.
What you need help with is creating a custom menu and adding categories pages, which are automatically generated by the software when we published a post (not a page) to the Categories and/or Tags pages.
