How to stop audio, when playing another?

  1. I was wondering how you can get your blog to stop playing one song when starting another. For example, if I have a post with 4 songs and someone starts playing the first one, I want it to stop when they start to play the 4th. As of right now, if you were to play the 4th, the 1st would continue playing as well, and you would have to manually stop it.

It is most annoying when you play one song, scroll down to another post to play a song, and can't find the original one to turn off.

    Cheers

The blog I need help with is thesleepingsun.wordpress.com.

  2. Each insertion of the audio player is separate and they are not connected. That means each would have to be manually stopped before you start another.

Take a look at the research Panos has done on audio players though and you might find an alternative that will do what you want (possibly playlist combined with player).

  3. Thanks a lot. I will check it out.

Wish that there was some way to do this, but clearly it's just not possible now. Not that big a nuisance anyways I suppose.

    Cheers

  4. If you could have one instance of the audio player load multiple files, then it would be possible, but as you say, not possible now.

  5. I've seen it done here:

I've been trying to figure out how it works but so far no luck. :(
I saw someone say that it used to automatically do this in version 1, but I still couldn't get it to work. If you figure it out let me know please.

PS The post I linked to above also shows how to "have one instance of the audio player load multiple files".
