This blogger posted a pingback to me, and on his blog it quotes blog title, tagline, and byline:

I suppose it is my blog profile that is supplying the text for the pingback. I just want it to show the title, not the tagline or byline.
Worst case is I have to turn off the byline, delete the tagline, and replace with a graphic banner. I'm looking for a setting to control the pingback string instead.
It actually looks like he typed that in by hand.
