   I don't know if this is a stupid question but I want to keep adding text to the caption field (for accessibility) but turn off the default automatic display of the caption. How do I do this? Currently I have to delete the caption tag in the html view everytime.

   AFAIK, there is no way to turn off the caption as long as there is text in that field.

   Yeah, this is a major accessibility problem. I have to go in and manually edit the code to remove the caption part each time, and leave the alt text only.

   It can be done, it's just a pain.
   BTW, a week after this feature was introduced, there is a new WP blog post about it.

   I just don't fill in the caption part. I do complete the Alt text, though.

   Mine always keeps saying "null" but I don't mind.
