Jalaj found a neat trick to verify your blog with the Google Webmaster Console.
I had a problem with this a year ago, but it looks like it's fixed/supported indirectly. Just putting a message up on the forums so that it can be found in search.

Actually this work around's been brought up three times now within the last month. :)
