I haven't yet started a blog, but I'm going to soon. How would I go about enabling my readers to interact with each other, and hold discussions? I originally wanted to do a forum, but it doesn't seem that it's possible with wordpress. So now I'm open to other ideas. What do you think?

The blog I need help with is hollowgrove.wordpress.com.
You can open a forum and link to it off WordPress, but if you haven't started a blog yet and really want to offer a social aspect to your site, get some webspace and install Buddypress, which is made by the same people as WordPress, but has social functions built in for users. It's free to download from buddypress.com.
