I am getting unrelated comments in my e-mail - by the hundreds.

    Here is the website that shows the unrelated comment that was made that came into my e-mail. It has nothing to do with me or my blog. I am getting these comment by the hundreds.

    This is timethief logged in under my other username account. I'm confused. I am not clear on why you think posting multiple threads on the same issue will produce a different answer from Staff than the one you have already received. Perhaps you did not read it.

    Since they don't have specific spam links or advertising in their comments, we can't distinguish them from other comments. The only solution is to manage these comments like any other comments, approve, delete or mark as spam.

    You also mentioned in another thread that you checked the box to receive notifications when other people comment, and this seems to be happening now. In the emails that you receive, look for the link to "unsubscribe" (usually at the bottom of the email).

    I hope this isn't a new thread I'm starting. I don't know how one "starts a new thread".

    If I "unsubscribe" to a specific blog, will I still get alerts when they put up new posts for that particular blog?

    If I don't check the "Notify me of followup e-mails" box, will the blog writer get MY own comment in their in-box anyway? I want my comment to get into their e-mail so they will be notified to reply to it. But I DON'T want others comments to get to my e-mail that have nothing to do with me.

    I'm sorry to be so frustrating, but I don't know what I'm doing. This is very frustrating for me too. It feels like nobody is really addressing the problem, and I've tried in every which way I know how to, to describe what is happening. I don't know exactly who I'm interacting with. Are you the one's who actually make changes to wordpress?

    What happened is that you commented on a blog post on a blog that is not hosted by WordPress.com, and when you did that you checkmarked the box to be notified of future comments made on that post.

    To un-follow the comments on a specific post that you chose to previously checkmark so you receive a copy of every comment made on that post, the email received will have a link at the bottom that says subscription options.     After your click the link you will find the post and hover their mouse over it and an un-follow link will appear.
