I can't access my Site.

  1. Basically when I enter the user name and password it tells me they they are not correct.

So I try and reset the password via the e-mail request. However it then says my e-mail does not exist. (ERROR: There is no user registered with that email address.)

I'm totally lost on how I can change the e-mail ... or the password ... or just get access to the WP-Admin page so I can adjust the details.

    Can anyone help?

The blog I need help with is www.boosteddamage.com.

  2. The blog you specified at http://www.boosteddamage.com does not appear to be hosted at WordPress.com.

This support forum is for blogs hosted at WordPress.com. If your question is about a self-hosted WordPress blog then you'll find help at the WordPress.org forums.

If you don't understand the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, you may find this information helpful.

If you forgot to include a link to your blog, you can reply and include it below. It'll help people to answer your question.

  3. I AM a wordpress blogger, and I too can't reset the password (for https://jasperlocalfood.wordpress.com/ ). I follow the instructions for resetting, but receive no email with the reset link. I suspect it's going to an address I no longer have. Give me another method for accessing my blog, please?

  4. @boosteddamage
I’m sorry but that blog linked to your wordpress.COM username is not a free blog from and being free hosted by wordpress.COM so we cannot help you with it. The correct support forum to get support for that blog is here > http://wordpress.ORG/support

If you have followed these instructions and not received an email which will be sent ONLY to the email address you registered your username account at wordpress.COM with then please check your spam filter. The email address we provide when registering useranem accounts is our unique identifier.

  6. @heatheryoungleslie - you can also contact Staff - however as @TT says - the email address is the king and the secret handshake so be prepared to prove who you are.

  7. I have the same problem.. I can log in and out but I can't access any of my page, dashboard blog and everything else. It always say The Connection Has Timed Out

  8. @sprakonites: Not exactly... the users above have password problems, while you are able to log in but unable to do anything else beyond that.

It could be the connection problems reported by users in specific parts of the world. If emptying cache and cookies does not work, you need to contact WordPress.com staff. More info here:

  9. I've been in all of the problems mentioned above with my other WordPress.com account. I thought maybe my account was like, stored somewhere full of bugs and rats that things got messed up from time to time. So I created a new account with a new blog and it's been a couple of months, nothing bad happens. Apparently my new account is stored in a better place!

I know creating a new account is a lame solution, I don't recommend it, I just want to share my story.

  10. i also cannot access my wordpress.com via ftp they say login error.. but if i put my password and username at wordpress.com its working..

Im currently studyng creating wordpress theme from scratch and manage to create my own.. can anyone help me.

You cannot build or use your own custom theme built from scratch at ordPress.com. We cannot edit themes or templates here at all. http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/editing-themes/ We have no FTP acces to free hosted wordpress.com blogs and cannot add themes. W are limited to the themes found in the dashboard under Appearance > Themes.

There are two free themes, Sandbox and Toolbox designed to allow maximum flexibility for CSS editing and creating new “skins”. Toolbox is more modern and includes a lot of support for CSS3 and HTML5, so it is really only limited by your skills and knowledge.

If you have CSS editing experience and purchase the CSS upgrade it will allow you to stylize the appearance of themes you find here > Appearance > Themes, but will not allow you to change the functionality, by editing the underlying template. It does not allow you to remove footer links to the theme designer or to WordPress.com. Also note that CSS is theme specific, so you cannot use the CSS stylesheets from other themes with the themes at wordpress.COM.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-css/

There is no official Staff support for the CSS upgrade, and precious little Volunteer support so do not purchase the upgrade unless you have CSS editing skills. If you do and choose to purchase the CSS upgrade read this before you begin editing http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-css/#css-help

If that's not your choice then do note that by hiring a web host and setting up your own self-hosted wordpress.ORG install you can have total control over your template and themes. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
