I cant change my domain

  1. I cant change my domain. I have purchased the custom upgrade $119. when I go to put in the new domain it does not give the option to buy it. It only requires me to tick the box that says 'I already own this domain' (which I don't).

The blog I need help with is carlybache.wordpress.com.

  2. What domain are you trying to enter?

  3. It is a significant help for me if I know what domain you are trying to get set up. It allows me to look into why this might be happening.

  4. Sorry, I didnt realise you were staff. The domain I currently have is carlybache.wordpress.com and i am trying to set up rossyvolley.avsc.com
Thanks so much for your help

  5. So rossyvolley.avsc.com is a subdomain of http://www.avsc.com/. Is avsc.com a domain that you are somehow connected to? A work or client website?

  6. it is the name of a volleyball tournament held in melbourne that i am creating this blog for. So the event organisers probably have the domain. if i just used rossvolley.com do u think that would work?

  7. I just tried to register the domain rossyvolley.com. It allowed me to go through the registration process but then said there was a problem with DNS?? Im not sure what that is about. When I then tried to set type in rossyvolley.com to URL bar (after setting it as primary domain) the page does not load and said 'the requested URL could not be retrieved'??

You could, if you wanted, map that subdomain using these instructions:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/

But that would require the assistance of the domain owner.

  9. When I then tried to set type in rossyvolley.com to URL bar (after setting it as primary domain) the page does not load and said 'the requested URL could not be retrieved'??

I am seeing http://rossyvolley.com/ point correctly to your WordPress.com site.

It can take 24-48 hours for domain/DNS changes to propagate throughout the internet. It typically happens faster than that, but it really depends on your ISPs update frequency. If you are still not seeing the correct site appear after 48 hours has elapsed, please contact me again.

Also, do let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.
