I can't change the theme for my blog

  1. I can't change the theme for my blog. When I try to switch to any free theme, a page tell me to contact support. I can't see the panel where I used to customize the sidebar for my theme neither.

I use the Origin theme but I can't find anymore in my admin panel the area to customize the sidebar widgets. A lot of things seems to be missing in my admin panel and I'd like to try to switch to another theme to be able to at least change some obsolete informations in these area.

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards.

The blog I need help with is formationmusicale.wordpress.com.

  3. Hi there,

That's very strange! I took a look in your blog's Dashboard and I wasn't able to see what you were describing. Just to make sure, when you log in can you go right here and see if your normal side menu is there:

    https://formationmusicale.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

If it isn't, could you please take a screenshot and upload it to your Media Library for me to look at? Here's some information on how to take a screenshot:

    Thanks so much!

  4. Hi,

thank you for your reply. I've uploaded a screenshot of my side menu and the rest of my admin page. Something is wrong, there is no menu or submenu where I can access the configuration of the element of my theme (the free ones, like the content of the right sidebar on the site). I can't change the theme neither as I mentioned in my first post.

Also, I don't know if it is related, I've no access anymore to the admin page for my second site : http://wordastuces.wordpress.com/

It doesn't show in my dropdown menu at the left when I'm in my site nor in the "my sites" tab on wordpress.com.

  5. Hey there,

It actually looks like the username which you have contacted us from is set as an Editor on that blog, which means that you only have limited abilities to make changes such as to the appearance.

If you would like to make such changes, you will need to get a hold of the site's administrator and ask them to change your user role to a higher one. They should be able to do so without any issue.

I also didn't see the site wordastuces.wordpress.com listed as a site under this username. Maybe it is one which you have under a different login?

  6. Well, thank you very much for this answer. It solves the problem. I was actually not using the correct login to administrate my sites...

I feel kind of dumb and relieved at the same time :|

    Thanks a lot !

  7. I'm glad that's all it was!
