I can't delete a site.

  1. Hi.

I have deleted most of the old blogs, but one of them will not go away. The email message with the confirmation link never arrives.

The cowriter of the blog was a thief and an abuser with a liking for minors, and I don't want anything connecting us online or off.

Please help me to get rid of this.

The blog I need help with is inthedetours.wordpress.com.

  2. Is this the URL of the blog you want to delete? http://inthedetours.wordpress.com/
I'll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

  3. P.S. Please check in your email account spam/junk mail filter in case the confirmation email is there.

  4. If you are not the owner of the site, you won't be able to delete it.

Please look in your list of "My Blogs" in your site's dashboard (not the one on the WordPress.com homepage) and hover your cursor over the site address. If you see the "Transfer blog" link appear then you are the owner of the site. If you see "Leave blog" then the other person is the site owner.

If you are a Contributor, Author or Editor, by clicking the link to leave the blog, that is exactly what you will do. http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#leave-a-blog

I am not certain why this would not work for a 2nd Admin, but if you cannot leave the blog in that fashion, then either the site owner or Staff should be able to do it for you.

  5. Update: It is possible for a second admin to remove themselves from a site owned by someone else by clicking on the "Leave Blog" link under Dashboard>My Blogs. Staff intervention is not required to do so.

The corresponding Support doc should be updated to note all user roles added by the site owner, including Administrators, Contributors, Authors and Editors. TIA

  6. @justjennifer
Thanks for the update. Are you a Staff wannbe too? lol :D

  7. No, just conscientious. Good for us all in the long run. :)

  8. @justjennifer
Yes, indeed it is and I was just kidding, as you can tell from the lol :D above. :) I have updated my notes. Now Staff need to update the support documentation too.
