Hi there,
I started my blog few days ago and I have been trying to see if my blog will come up in google if I search key sentences from my blog or even my site name 'speakorsleep'! I also copied parts of my published posts and googled it and still no show!
How long does it take before my blog shows up in search engines, when key terms are used ?

4 to 6 weeks if you have content worth indexing - you need to put content on
http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-more-views-and-traffic/
Thank you for your fast response. surprisingly, my posts are shown on google now when I look them up! How come it didn't take 4-6 weeks like you mentioned and only took 4 days?
So will it take 4 days to show every time I post something?

It all depends on how busy and full the Google indexing queues are. Sometimes they aren't too full and sometimes they are. If we tell people that it will be just a few days and then it takes several weeks, they come back here wanting to know what is wrong. In general in the past, it has taken 4- 6 weeks and I've seen it just recently take that long on a website I set up for someone, so you just never know. WordPress.com has a lot of search engine ranking, so sites here can get indexed faster than independently hosted site, but that is not always the case.
Sorry to be wishy-washy, but that is how things are with Google search sometimes. :)
