I thought I was just linking my blog to website for search engines. I purchased 10 credits, put my website URL in the domain mapping form like it said, after I changed the DNS setting at My host server.
Now when I go to my website, I get my new blog I set up, not my site. Was I already linked when I put the link to my blog on website earlier?
Should I go back and change the DNS name back to what it was?
I am just looking to link my blog and my site to improve my page rank.

A domain name can only point to one thing - either your blog or your web site.
You can set up subdomains so that, for example, blog.mydomain.com points to your WordPress.com blog and mydomain.com points to your web site. See the subdomain question here:
