I changed my twitter account but it does't updates.

Add topic to favorites
Hello. My blog is http://www.wongedansby.wordpress.com and I connected it to the @rinatrilestari account on Twitter but then I changed it to @roro_asyu. I have followed the instructions to change the account. I went to settings-sharing and also changed the “Twitter username to include in tweets when people share using the Twitter button” into roro_asyu. I also cleared the catche on my browser but it didn’t help. Still @rinatrilestari appears everytime I or anybody else share my contents. FYI, @rinatrilestari account twitter now belongs to someone.
Need your help.

I have the same problem with mine, and my old Twitter handle is now being used by someone else, so it is confusing my followers!

Shawnajroberts is going to need both your old and new Twitter usernames to be able to fix this, so please provide them. Also make sure that you have updated your “Twitter username to include in tweets when people share using the Twitter button” under Settings ->Sharing in the dashboard.

Have changed it in dashboard, and publicize settings.
My old Twitter handle was @reena_bee

This has now been changed to @misguidedminx

The forum staff have been gone for the past week and a half on a conference and there is a bit of a backlog, so you’ll just have to be patient. These threads are dealt with by them based on timestamps, so every new post actually makes it take longer for you to get help, so please be patient while waiting for them to respond. I’ve retagged this thread in case @shawnajroberts is no longer following it to be sure it gets staff attention.

And by the way, nothing prevents you from sharing your posts to Twitter and adding the username manually in the meantime.

Hi there,

When did you change your Twitter handle? Please note that it can not be changed for posts created under the old Twitter handle, only after the change.

I changed it nearly a year ago. I tried to share my last post (published on Monday) and it comes up on the twitter preview with the image and link for the old handle. I can’t send you a screenshot via this message but you can check it on my Twitter @misguidedminx

It may be a Twitter cache issue, but I’m not completely sure. Can you please upload the screenshot to your Media > Library page? I’d be more than happy to take a further look.

Thanks for the screenshot! So I see that you added the new Twitter connection 3 days ago, and that post was published before that. Can you try publishing a new post now and see if you get the old handle still?
