I changed the name of the blog by mistake, and can't have the old name back!

  1. I changed the name of our collective blog by mistake when I tried to create a username for me. Our blog name was "forcedefrappes.wordpress.com" I tried to rename it, but I always get a message error telling me this name is used, but it is false, since "forcedefrappes" is showing as "deleted". I never wanted to delete it. Can we get our address back? Now the blog is "forcedefrappe.wordpress.com", but we are missing the "s" that does all the difference! Thanks a lot and I hope you can help me fix this mistake by making "forcedefrappes" available again with [email redacted] as administrator? This mail address is actually set up with user "motsdemef" which was supposed to be my username as an auhor. I don't know if this is clear, but the most important is we want to get our original address back, which was forcedefrappes.wordpress.com.
    Blog url: http://forcedefrappe.wordpress.com

  2. I'm sorry, but deleted blogs cannot be restored or reused. Deleting a blog is permanent and the name cannot be used again. There are several warnings about this on the Tools -> Delete Site page and in the help pages, and you are required to confirm the deletion by email.

With any blog, you can also use your custom domain with Domain Mapping upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/

  3. But I didn't actually delete any thing, I just changed the username which then changed the address of the blog. Is this similar to deleting? I understand that I can't reuse the same username. But I did think I could restore the address...

  4. Yes, when you chose to change the name, you selected the option to delete the original blog. As mentioned on that screen, deleted blogs cannot be restored or reused.
